Dane Searls has proven himself as one of the world's best big dirt jump riders. In his quest to push himself and BMX dirt jumping further, Dane has teamed up with Unit Clothing to develop the Giants Of Dirt project.

The construction and first ride took place in August, at Matt Schubring's Boonah property, located in Australia. The set up was totally untested, and Dane took a massive slam in his attempt to clear the whole set-up. He walked away and immediately began planning another attempt.

After months of bad weather, Dane headed back out to the massive jumps, and worked along side Matt Schubring to bring the jumps up to standard and ready to ride. Part 2 of the Giants Of Dirt project documents Dane's next big attempt!

Claude Lelouch - C'était un Rendez-vous (1976)

The film shows an eight-minute drive through Paris in the early hours of the morning, accompanied by sounds of a high-revving engine, gear changes and squealing tires. It starts in a tunnel of the Paris Périphérique at Porte Dauphine, with an onboard view from an unseen car exiting up on a ramp to Avenue Foch. Well-known landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, Opéra Garnier, and Place de la Concorde with its obelisk are passed, as well as the Champs-Élysées. Pedestrians are passed, pigeons sitting on the streets are scattered, red lights are ignored, one-way streets are driven up the wrong way, center lines are crossed, the car drives on the sidewalk to avoid a rubbish truck. The car is never seen as the camera seems to be attached below the front bumper (judging from the relative positions of other cars, the visible headlight beam and the final shot when the car is parked in front of a curb on Montmartre, with the famous Sacré Cœur Basilica behind, and out of shot). Here, the driver gets out and embraces a young blonde woman as bells ring in the background, with the famous backdrop of Paris.

This week we meet the America's Cup design agency, Designwerk, who is responsible for the look and feel of the America's Cup on TV. The agency was tasked with capturing the new extreme sports look on screen, as well as creating the opening title sequence for use in live TV events, including AC Uncovered. If San Francisco Bay provides the perfect conditions for sailing on the edge, the city's infamous streets offer the ideal combination of gradient and gravity for Freeboarding, which is like snowboarding on city streets for adrenaline junkies. Extreme sports are a part of the culture in San Francisco. Bay Area resident and newly crowned Kiteboard World Champion Johnny Heineken recently had the chance to to ride side by side with ORACLE Racing while they were training off the shores of the city front. Then we get the latest crew news from each of the America's Cup teams as they prep for racing to start at the America's Cup World Series San Diego. We check out the leader board going into our first US stop on the 2011-2012 America's Cup World Series tour.

For the last two years I have been taking still photographs for a personal project entitled 'It's Better In The Wind,' all the while collecting video footage from each ride as we traveled around the Western United States together.

I have been slowly editing the footage into a visual scrapbook of sorts for those who partook, and those who followed us via the web. No preaching the triumphs and failures of the motorcycle industry, no divisive commentary between manufacturers and styles...just a collection of imagery that will hopefully inspire more people to take to the road and discover what there is outside of our respective communities.

Chuck Ragan was kind enough to collaborate with me to write an original soundtrack for the film, to give me some anthemic tunes to edit with, and I can't thank him enough for the kind gesture towards a fellow traveler.

Please, enjoy the film, everybody who took part in it is family, we are all grateful for your support these past two years while we tried to build a concept around the positive nature of motorcycling.

I have been filming the Skyliners on an incredible exploration into the world of free flight.
Tancrède, Julien, Seb and Antoine are pioneers in ‘highlining’ - a vertiginous combination of climbing, slackline and tightrope walking.

We travelled from our home in Chamonix to our training ground in the Verdon gorge, testing the limits for our ultimate goal...
We rigged highlines on the skyscrapers of Paris, and finally came to the spectacular cliffs and fjords of Norway.

Months of training led the Skyliners team to attempt their dream of complete freedom... the freedom of flight !
